A woman of many dimensions: A big sister; a WAC in World War II; a lover of music; a loving wife and mother of 10, grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 9.

Someone I will always remember of fondly. Thinking of her brings a smile to my face because that's how I remember her best -- with a huge smile on hers!

"Carpy", sage of Clinton, and known to many as the dean of Hunterdon County Newspapermen.

His life in the newspaper business is what gave me my very first break in tracing my Carpenter ancestors.

And going through micro-filmed editions of his newspaper, The Clinton Democrat, is what continues to provide me with invaluable information today.
